Request for Blackboard Page Example for AE 431/531 Fall 2012
1. Go to iastate.edu
2. Click on Blackboard at the top of the page.
3. Click on Help in the grey menu at the top of the page.
4. Click on Request a Blackboard Course
5.Click on Create a Copy of an Existing Blackboard Learn Couse
6. Login:
Username: eolbb Password: (same as EOL BB Page)
7. Fill in the Blanks of the Request Page
Create a Copy of: EOL Template One
To Be Used in: (Select the Current Term) Fall 2012
Section(s) that will be enrolled in this Bb Learn Course: Select -> ALL Registrar Sections of this Course
Click on: Change course's existing department identifier or course number
Don't change the Previous department identifier or previous course number
Choose New Department: (Select the department) Agricultural Engineering
New Course Number: 431 (If the class is for example BRT 515X, type 515X in the course number)
Additional Users to be Added to My Course
NetID: eolbb -> (Select Instructor)
NetID: vani (this might change depending on the current supervisor) -> (Select Instructor)
Special Instructions, Questions, or Comments: "Please use CE/Ensci 420/520 as the course name" (Write this only if the class has two course numbers, in the case that it does not, don't write anything)
Click Submit.
If you are doing many classes at once, after you click submit it will take you to another page. Follow these instructions to continue:
1. Click on Request new BbLearn Course
2. Select: a Course listed in the ISU Schedule of Classes.
3. Click Next
4. Select: a Copy of the content and design of a previous BbLearn course.
5. Click Next
6. Repeat step 7. Fill in the Blanks of the Request Page
7. Continue the loop until you are done with the classes you need to request Bb page.
Creating/Editing the New Blackboard Page Example for EE456 Fall 2012
1. Once the Blackboard Page has been requested and created from a copy of the EOL Template One, which is derived from a previous CprE/InfAS 530 XE course page, there is some editing that needs to be done.
2. Log into Blackboard:
Username: eolbb Password: (same as EOL BB Page)
3. Go into the class you want to edit, in this case we will use: EE456 Fall 2012
2. First of all we will edit the Course Information (since it will have the templates' course info)
The edit mode should be on
The page will look like this:
On the left side you will see the correct name and term of the course
In the middle you can see that the name, term, Instructor and EOL Contact information are incorrect or do not belong to this course.
Go to the Course Information and click on the Edit option on the dropdown menu for the underlined Course Information word.
The text editor should be offand this text will appear:
